On June 30, 2020, the United Front of the Haitian Diaspora (UF) entered a contract with Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) as a partner in the National Covid-19 Resiliency Network (NCRN). MSM was selected to participate in a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) “to lead the initiative to coordinate a strategic network of national, state, territorial, tribal and local organizations to deliver COVID-19-related information to communities hardest hit by the pandemic.” (HHS)

The NCRN offers individuals and families access to new COVID-19 related resources to help reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on vulnerable communities. The NCRN is created for community, by community to ensure the diverse needs of our nation are understood and addressed. The NCRN collaborates with non-profits, corporate companies, academic institutions, health centers, hospital systems, faith-based organizations, and federal agencies to provide critical culturally relevant resources to communities who are experiencing the greatest negative outcomes from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.

As a collaborating partner in this program, UF will disseminate information to the Haitian community regarding COVID-19 to reduce the health gap that exists in the community. In order to accomplish this goal, the UF is reaching out to the Haitian community leaders, community-based organizations (CBO), the Haitian clergy, community leaders, and the Haitian media to create a viable information network to provide valuable information to our community regarding COVID-19.
